For “a bit of a laugh” a techy in an Internet company has achieved 3.5Mb ADSL download speed over a length of wet string. Funny yes – but the sad part is that half the UK still has to rely on a last generation ADSL service – and many of those actually dream of having that 3.5Mb speed! BT and Openreach have been so slow to roll out acceptable connectivity speeds, even after all this time. Its bitter sweet that a wet string joke brings many businesses plight into such sharp focus!
